Our team at Samson Law are fearless in protecting our clients’ interests. We are at the forefront of criminal defence work, with over 35 years’ experience practising Criminal law. We are constantly deploying ground breaking legal, human rights and public interest arguments and scientific evidence on behalf of our clients. Our approach to criminal defence has resulted in Samson law successfully shaping some of the most celebrated cases in recent history.
Our lawyers frequently defend in the most serious and high profile cases. We are experienced at managing and advising on the media publicity these cases often attract, which can be one of the most distressing aspects of being prosecuted. Of course, we also act in cases where there is no publicity, but where the issues and potential consequences for our clients are equally serious. In all our cases we are aware of the personal strain that can be involved.
We are used to facing the most formidable and best resourced prosecution agencies, including the Royal Cayman Islands Police, Th Department of Immigration, Customs enforcement and the Director of Public Prosecutions. We have the experience and skills to match these prosecutors, and we believe that they respect and acknowledge Samson Law’s expertise when we represent any defendant.
We work with the best experts in the UK and USA in order to ensure that the most compelling and reliable expert evidence is obtained to support our clients’ cases. We instruct highly skilled external counsel because we believe in briefing the best person for the job and our experience ensures we are able to identify that person. Where necessary, we adopt a multi-jurisdictional approach using our links with lawyers in other countries.
We offer advice and representation throughout all stages of criminal investigations and proceedings – before arrest, at the police station, before charges are brought and during court proceedings in the Summary Court, Grand Court and Higher Courts. We specialise in defending in all kinds of criminal cases, including :
We understand that anxiety about funding a case can make the experience of being prosecuted more stressful. We do everything we can to minimise that anxiety by providing clear step-by-step advice and information about funding options.
In some cases, we can act under Legal Aid, which means that the cost of your case is wholly or partly paid for from public funds.
We will discuss funding options with you. If we cannot act under Legal Aid, we will discuss with you the options for paying for your case yourself. We will do all we can to find a way that makes doing so affordable and straightforward.
